Turning 18 can be scary, yes, but it doesn%26#039;t mean you have to behave a certain way. All it means is that you now have more privileges than you did as a minor child. You can vote now, get credit ( though the other writers are right, I would AVOID getting more than one credit card, and make sure you pay the bill ON TIME every month, in the FULL amount, if you want to avoid a bad credit rating) sign contracts, run for and hold public office if you want, serve in the armed forces, buy tobacco and smoke, buy porn magazines, get into R and X rated movies without a parent present, and in some states, you can even drink beer and wine, and purchase both of these. You are also over the age of consent now, and can legally marry, adopt children, divorce, and get a mortgage for a home. About the only thing you can%26#039;t do at 18 is buy hard liquor, such as whiskey, vodka, or scotch, to say nothing of most of the liquers. You can get a license and drive anywhere you want to, and rent motel rooms on the way. In short, turning 18 is pretty neat- but it doesn%26#039;t mean you have to act any differently.

There is a whole lot of stuff you need to know as an adult but you do not need to know it all by tomorrow. Take it easy, you will learn as you go.

lol don;%26#039;t worry so much my advice to you is to stay out of debt don;t use credit cards thats the mistake everyone makes. i didn%26#039;t (i saw my parents) and i am 21 married with 2 children and we just bought our first big beautiful house
get one credit card and keep it for emergencys thats it. you can get more if you like to get good credit you must have them but don;t even activate them just keep them

LOL. You%26#039;re not automatically granted with the wisdom of adulthood when you turn 18. I look back at how I acted when I was 18 and I realize I had so much to learn! You have to experience the %26quot;real world%26quot; and live life in order to grow up and mature and become an adult. Age is only a number. It%26#039;s all about living and learning.

Being 18 isnt really any different to being 17 or 19, except for if ur in Australia then ur old enough to buy alcohol and get ur P%26#039;s. you dont just become an adult overnight and be expected to know all these things you will learn about them as you need to use them, im sure there are lots of adults that have no idea about a lot of that stuff.

Don%26#039;t get into credit card debt. Don%26#039;t. Just don%26#039;t. If you can%26#039;t pay for it with a debit card, don%26#039;t buy it. The interest on the debt will snowball before you realize it, and it will ruin your credit rating and your chances of a low interest rate when you want to buy a house.
Don%26#039;t party with rich kids. You%26#039;ll go broke paying for their drinks.

Avoid credit cards. There is really no need to own one, unless you WANT to be in debt. Your Debit card will work fine for any transaction where a card is required. I can%26#039;t stress this enough.
Other than that... 18 is no different than 17. Don%26#039;t worry about changing your behavior. That will change all on it%26#039;s own.
Most of all... have fun. :) Go buy cigarettes, porn, and lottory tickets.

Relax just be yourself, but from now on you will have to be careful on who you date, you cannot score on a girl that is not legal to concent, check in your local library whats the age of concent in your state.
Also if you commit a crime you will be put with the grow up criminals in jail so just ibey the law and everything is gonna be fine. Hey don%26#039;t forget to register for voting and get your driver licence.

A lot of the things you listed come later on in adulthood. As of tomorrow, enjoy becoming a young adult, make wise decisions, make better judgments, and have a happy birthday.
