What should I do?

I currently work as executive assistant in Vancouver, BC. I make $38,000 per year plus about $1,500 bonus. Should I quit come September and go to school full time so I can finish my bachelor degree in business? Or should I stay working and take night classes (the long way). PS Would have to get student loans for second option of going to school full time.

What should I do?

I would quit and go to school full-time. Look at it this way; if you continue working, much of your income will be going to pay tuition, so it is not as if you would have access to the $38K you are making now. Yes, you would graduate debt-free, but a long time from now, and in the meanwhile, you would not be making any progress toward the higher earnings that the degree would offer you.

If you go back to school full time, you will initially graduate with debt, but that would be relatively soon. You could immediately start working in a job which would lead to a higher income (your initial income may not be higher, but it will increase more rapidly), paying off the debt fairly soon, and in the long run, it will benefit you.

Probably the biggest challenge for you will be giving up your current lifestyle for a few years to finish your degree.

What should I do?

I%26#039;d go for the 2nd option. A lot of people do this and things work out well for them.

In the end though, it depends on the type of person you are.

閳?Can you juggle the demands of your job, school and other personal responsibilities effectively?

閳?Will you be able to adapt to all the running around or is it going to wear you out?

閳?Will the job that you have now reimburse you for all/some of your tuition costs?

閳?Will you be able to adapt to a simpler lifestyle because of having to go to school?

閳?Once you have the degree, will you be able to use it on a job quickly to pay off the student loan?

閳?Will all the effort you put into the field of your choice be worth it in the end?

These are just some of the questions you should consider before making this change. I hope this helps and that things go well for you.

What should I do?

I agree with Brat in going the second option. Who%26#039;s to say you will get a job with a Bachelor%26#039;s and make $38,000?

Moving to america and confused about schools?

hi i%26#039;m sixteen from england and i will be moving to america in august this year. i will be with my boyfriend who will be training as a pilot and also his mother and sister who are starting up a catering company but i need my own visa. i dont know how to get this visa and i also don%26#039;t know which type i will need?

also, my predicted grades for my GCSE%26#039;s are all above B%26#039;s. i know that five or more good gcse grades equal an american high school diploma but even though i will definately have this i dont know if i am too young or underqualified to apply for college. will i have to do another kind of course untill i am 18 or will they accept me because my grades are good?

finally, are american schools free like they are in england and also is college free or are there student loans like in england?

i know this is alot but any answers at all will be appriciated as i am totally confused and running out of time! thanks.

Moving to america and confused about schools?

As you are classed as a minor in England, are your boyfriend%26#039;s parents taking legal and parental responsibility for you? If not then you will not be issued a visa, to a minor who has no adult to be responsible for you till you reach the age of majority they will not hand out a visa to someone who is a minor and no USA family to look after them.

For his mother and sister to start up their own business again they have to have certain financial requirements to do so, it is not just as simple as opening a small business in the UK.

You need your A levels to go to college here. The colleges will not accept you with just GSCE%26#039;s under your belt. As regard to going to regular school well if you are a minor then you will be eligible for school till you reach 18. However going to college will be a different matter.

Are your parents moving to the US? As you would be dependent on them, if that was the case.

You can not be classed as a dependent on your boyfriend or his family unless they adopt you basically., or acknowledge responsibility for you legally. But the way you have written your answer you are doing this own your own.

Moving to america and confused about schools?

You need to have your transcript evaluated by a professional so that you can be correctly placed here in the USA. It%26#039;s possible that you can take a GED test and receive the equivalent of a high school diploma. That would allow you to move on to a college or university, or begin your studies at a 2 year junior/technical college.

In any case you%26#039;ll need a student visa. This will require that you be accepted by, and enrolled in, a qualifying educational institution. Once you do that the school will send you a document called an I-20. You can use the I-20 to apply for the student visa there in the UK at our embassy or one of our consulates.

To get the student visa you%26#039;ll have to %26quot;prove%26quot; to the American consular officer who interviews you that you have strong ties to the UK and that you will return to the UK after your school is finished. You%26#039;ll also have to prove that you have the means to support yourself, including paying for all your educational expenses, while in the United States.

The only way you could attend for %26quot;free%26quot; is if you were a part of some qualified exchange student program in the public school system. You can only do this for 1 year. You normally don%26#039;t get to pick where you are assigned and you are required to live with an American host family. Other than that, you%26#039;ll have to pay the full cost of your education.

You would not qualify for a student loan because you have no ties to the United States.

College for a foreign student is INCREDIBLY expensive. Plan on $20,000 per year, minimum. Even attending a public high school with a student visa will cost you $8,000 to $12,000 for a year, depending on the location.

I just got a private student loan -how will that affect my credit & score?

The loan is not to be paid back till I am out of school. Will the fact that I have this loan show up on my credit score now, or just when the loan is being repayed? Will this improve my score or mess it up since the payments are deferred?

I just got a private student loan -how will that affect my credit %26amp; score?

The deferment will not hurt your credit. There will be no payment history.... I assume your accounts on your credit report are all fairly new...

This should have little to no effect on your credit report.

Sallie Mae Signature Student loan?

About how long does it take for a school to certify a sallie mae signature student loan? My credit was approved yesterday, and now I just have to wait for my school to certify the amount. I was wondering about how long that takes. If anyone has got one, how long did yours take? I know the time probably varies - just looking for an estimate. Thanks

Sallie Mae Signature Student loan?

Signature (Sig) Loans are very common among students. Certification depends on how far behind your college or university is though. Sometimes the loans may be certified in a little as 2-3 days, but other times it can take 3-4 weeks. It really depends on how many of these loans need to be certified, so your best bet would be calling your school%26#039;s Office of Financial Aid and asking them.

What month do most people apply for a private student loan if starting in the fall?

I am just curious because i start school in late September and i still haven%26#039;t spplied for one yet.

Also, is there usually money down required for private student loans?

What month do most people apply for a private student loan if starting in the fall?

january, when the fasfa is due, most usually look then

What month do most people apply for a private student loan if starting in the fall?

Hasty answer: now (if you need it). You will notice all the commercials for student loans on TV this month (blood suckers).

A little more detail: I would think the answer is %26quot;as soon as you need it,%26quot; unlike Federal loans, which are on timeline associated with the school year. Most Federal loans are approved in the summer and dispersed in the fall, this coming after you file a FAFSA early in the year and get an aid award from your school (which usually happens in the late spring/early summer).

The reason I bring this up is so that you might match your loans to the federal timeline, and decide to either take a loan out at the same time or stagger it so that not all the debt comes due at the same time.

Having said all this, I highly discourage private college debt (except for med school/law school).

Frankly, I don%26#039;t see how a person can%26#039;t find a way to scrimp by on federal loans (make sure you are maxing out federal loans before you go private). If you have that kind of need, you should be getting some grant money.

Remember, loans, federal or private, aren%26#039;t free like grants and scholarships. The more debt you take on, the crappier the job you will have to take when you get out, and the more likely yo will get locked into a career you hate just to pay bills.

Debt is a surefire way to become an indentured servant to a person that%26#039;s actually getting something out of being an American.

Appeal to your aid office for more aid before taking out a private loan--max out your federal stuff, but most off all, live as lean as you can to avoid debt to the best of your ability--never be comfortable taking a loan, and do so only grudgingly.

As for %26quot;money down,%26quot; I%26#039;m not totally sure what you are taking about, but you will have to make interest payments immediately with private loans and non-subsidized federal loans.

I am a single mom of 2 kids, I had back surgery last year and unable to continue doing childcare.?

my job as a caregiver let me be home with my kids. I had this job for the last 11 years. This was esential because my son is diagnosed with bi-polar intermitent rage and opositional defiant disorder. These factors have made it imposible to seek traditional employment. I decided to go back to school. I have obtained financial aid and a studend loan which pays for my schooling. I was receiving state help and was just informed that I no longer qualify because I am not attending a technical school.

Now I dont know how I am going to pay my bills, they tell me either quit school or I wont receive benifitts that help me survive.

If someone has any info PLEASE HELP!

I am a single mom of 2 kids, I had back surgery last year and unable to continue doing childcare.?

The Government has created a portal to help individuals who need benefits because of life events. Visit http://www.govbenefits.gov

Use the drop down button

DO YOU NEED BENEFITS BECAUSE OF A LIFE EVENT?

Choose the life situation best applicable to you and then see if you qualify for the available government assistance.

Check it out so you can know what government benefits and assistance you can avail and qualify from Medicaid to food stamps or other assistance programs

I am a single mom of 2 kids, I had back surgery last year and unable to continue doing childcare.?

If you do not currently have employment, you can apply for Medicaid for yourself and your kids. Medicaid may help cover the costs of hiring a nurse/caregiving for your son. You can probably get Food Stamps as well. In addition, if your back has rendered you disabled, you may be able to apply for SSI disability benefits.

I am a single mom of 2 kids, I had back surgery last year and unable to continue doing childcare.?

Apply for disability. Contact your local Social Security office to find out how the toll free number is 1-800-772-1213, or check out their site... www.ssa.gov the site will have all the information that you need. good luck it generally takes 2-3 years to get approved. Usually you won%26#039;t get approved the first time but keep trying. I would suggest filing for unemployment until you can get qualified for it.

I'm turning 18 tommorow. I'm scared. I'm really nervous, is there any thing that I ne

Something like insurance, credit scores, home loans. Etc. Anything, can be law, money, school anything. Just something that i need to know when I%26#039;m 18

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

Turning 18 can be scary, yes, but it doesn%26#039;t mean you have to behave a certain way. All it means is that you now have more privileges than you did as a minor child. You can vote now, get credit ( though the other writers are right, I would AVOID getting more than one credit card, and make sure you pay the bill ON TIME every month, in the FULL amount, if you want to avoid a bad credit rating) sign contracts, run for and hold public office if you want, serve in the armed forces, buy tobacco and smoke, buy porn magazines, get into R and X rated movies without a parent present, and in some states, you can even drink beer and wine, and purchase both of these. You are also over the age of consent now, and can legally marry, adopt children, divorce, and get a mortgage for a home. About the only thing you can%26#039;t do at 18 is buy hard liquor, such as whiskey, vodka, or scotch, to say nothing of most of the liquers. You can get a license and drive anywhere you want to, and rent motel rooms on the way. In short, turning 18 is pretty neat- but it doesn%26#039;t mean you have to act any differently.

Have fun, and happy birthday !!!

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

There is a whole lot of stuff you need to know as an adult but you do not need to know it all by tomorrow. Take it easy, you will learn as you go.

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

lol don;%26#039;t worry so much my advice to you is to stay out of debt don;t use credit cards thats the mistake everyone makes. i didn%26#039;t (i saw my parents) and i am 21 married with 2 children and we just bought our first big beautiful house

get one credit card and keep it for emergencys thats it. you can get more if you like to get good credit you must have them but don;t even activate them just keep them

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

LOL. You%26#039;re not automatically granted with the wisdom of adulthood when you turn 18. I look back at how I acted when I was 18 and I realize I had so much to learn! You have to experience the %26quot;real world%26quot; and live life in order to grow up and mature and become an adult. Age is only a number. It%26#039;s all about living and learning.

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

Being 18 isnt really any different to being 17 or 19, except for if ur in Australia then ur old enough to buy alcohol and get ur P%26#039;s. you dont just become an adult overnight and be expected to know all these things you will learn about them as you need to use them, im sure there are lots of adults that have no idea about a lot of that stuff.

dont stress so much its your birthday tomorrow!!!!

go out and party.

Happy Birthday!!

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

Don%26#039;t get into credit card debt. Don%26#039;t. Just don%26#039;t. If you can%26#039;t pay for it with a debit card, don%26#039;t buy it. The interest on the debt will snowball before you realize it, and it will ruin your credit rating and your chances of a low interest rate when you want to buy a house.

Don%26#039;t party with rich kids. You%26#039;ll go broke paying for their drinks.

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

Be a kid when you want to be. You won%26#039;t be an adult over night ;)

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

You Don%26#039;t Automatically Become An Adult in Mind Body And Soul When You Turn 18.

Talk To Your Parents

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

Avoid credit cards. There is really no need to own one, unless you WANT to be in debt. Your Debit card will work fine for any transaction where a card is required. I can%26#039;t stress this enough.

Other than that... 18 is no different than 17. Don%26#039;t worry about changing your behavior. That will change all on it%26#039;s own.

Most of all... have fun. :) Go buy cigarettes, porn, and lottory tickets.

Just because you are a legal adult doesn%26#039;t mean you have to act like one. Do you honestly think that college students act like adults?

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

Relax just be yourself, but from now on you will have to be careful on who you date, you cannot score on a girl that is not legal to concent, check in your local library whats the age of concent in your state.

Also if you commit a crime you will be put with the grow up criminals in jail so just ibey the law and everything is gonna be fine. Hey don%26#039;t forget to register for voting and get your driver licence.

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

A lot of the things you listed come later on in adulthood. As of tomorrow, enjoy becoming a young adult, make wise decisions, make better judgments, and have a happy birthday.

I%26#039;m turning 18 tommorow. I%26#039;m scared. I%26#039;m really nervous, is there any thing that I need to know as an adult?

Be yourself and with time you will pick up all you need to know. As for acting mature do not force it, it will slowly come as you learn more about the world. MOST IMPORTANT THOUGH IS!!!

I am wanting to be a missionary for the IMB of the SBC and currently going to Liberty University and paying only by loans. Is there a cheaper or better school I could attend that would help me get on the mission field in LESS debt? Thank you and God bless! Isaiah 6:8

I am wanting to be a missionary for the Southern Baptist Covention. What college/university would help most?

My daughter is fixing to graduate from The Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, FL . Her degree is in missions.

It is one of the cheapest Southern Baptist colleges in the nation and we have been very pleased with the quality of education/professors.

She received several scholarships also, which were helpful. One came from our state board of missions, the others through the college itself because of her excellent grades. (Presidential scholarship) . So don%26#039;t forget those options!

Hope this helps.

There are usually many different state grants available. I would contact the financial aid office of the school she is going to attend and see what else they have avaliable. Definately apply for the FAFSA. You can sign up at www.fastweb.com It is a scholarship website that allows you to create a profile and will find scholarships that fit your criteria. Also see if your town has an educational center that can assist you. The most important thing is for her to keep her grades up because many scholarships are based on GPA

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

My parents are going through really rough times, but so am I. And I%26#039;m a single parent working and going to school. Over the last 8 mos. I%26#039;ve loaned them $1,200 and haven%26#039;t seen any of it back. I have the feeling that they have no intentions of repaying me. How should I confront them?

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

The worst thing about loaning money to your parents is that when you ask them for it back, all they do is remind you of the sacrifices that they made with raising your. It is not your fault, you didn%26#039;t ask to be born.

I agree with most of the others. Let them know that you need your money, ask for it, when you know that they have some money. AND DON%26#039;T LEND THEM ANOTHER DIME.

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

unfortunately, there%26#039;s only one way for everything. just be straight forward. remind them that you lend them money, and politely explain that you are going through hard times and you need it back.

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

sorry for you

you are not gonna get it back,

they will say it%26#039;s for compensation to how much they spent on you when you were still a kid

deal with it, $1,200 not that much

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

Are your parents together or seperated ? .. This sounds really weird to me. Have they had a pattern of taking advantage of you through-out your life ? .. I don%26#039;t think they have any plan at all of giving it back to you .. Why did you loan it out in the first place ?? They are your parents and can take care of themselves.. let them get a bank loan. That is cruel to take it from you and not pay it back ASAP !!! Good Luck ! :)

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

Truthfully...Tell them that they said it was a loan and you are in trouble and u need the money repaid soon...If they don%26#039;t then never loan them money again.

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

hint around that your cash is running low and you need to pay some bills.

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

DONT, just plan ur future wisely so u will have financial freedom. im in the same situation, cept im a male, and im single with no kids....and ive given my mom more than 1200. She says that she will pay it back but i highly doubt. so now i do 2 things: 1) when they ask u for money say u dont have a lot/ less than what u actually have and 2) plan ahead cuz u know that anytime they need money they will ask u first. I confronted my mom about it, all that did was cause an argument....cuz if she doesnt have the money, then she cant give it back to ya. AND parents or not, they always make excuses......

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

You don%26#039;t. The number 1 rule about loaning money to family members is that you shouldn%26#039;t expect to get it back.

Besides, after spending what they did to birth, clothe, feed, and raise you, $1200 is just a miniscule drop in a pool.

Be responsible for yourself. If you%26#039;re not in the position to give your parents a relatively small amount of money, stop doing it. As far as the money you%26#039;ve already given them, consider it a gift and don%26#039;t give Christmas/Hannukkah or birthday presents.

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

1,2000.00 is a small amount of money to bug them about. You know they are having a hard time right now. Try to understand. The good lord will bless you and you will come out on top with way more than $1,200.00 worth. So be nice and kind and you will get yours, I promise. You only get one set of parents, years from now when they are gone you will wish they were here to lend even more money to. Don%26#039;t ever forget that.

What should I do? Loaned my parents money, how do I go about asking for it back?

Don%26#039;t expect any payment. This will just cause discord. Your mom gave birth to you, raised you and there is no dollar amount to compensate for that. $1,200 may be a lot, but really it is too little when it comes to destroying a relationship. I would mention it to them but if they tell you that they cannot pay you, then drop it and let it go. Helping someone you love may be a huge sacrifice but worth it at times.

How does the Stafford Loan application process work?

I plan to start graduate school at the beginning of April. The application deadline is 1 month prior to that. I will have my application package ready by the end of February.

I plan to apply for the Stafford Loan (have already submitted my FAFSA). So the school will hopefully admit me by the end of March.

I heard that I have to be enrolled to receive the Stafford Loan.

How long does it take to get the first payment from the Stafford Loan? Can I still apply for it even though I%26#039;m not enrolled yet?

How does the Stafford Loan application process work?

You have to be enrolled and your FAFSA is also your application. Once you choose your school, talk to the financial aid office there and they will help you get your loan. Do it as soon as you are accepted because the longer you wait, the longer it takes.

Getting a Student without a cosigner, and not so good credit??

Does anyone know where I can apply for a good student loan with out a cosigner if I have not so good credit. I am married not so good credit and have already applied at Wells Fargo Bank and was denied...I do not have anyone to cosign and need this loan to go back to school. Has anyone else had any luck anywhere else??? I need about 5-10 thousand!!! Although any amount would be a big help...Thanks so much for any advice.

Getting a Student without a cosigner, and not so good credit??

First I would look at any government/subsidized loans. And if that still is not enough try SallieMae, while your interest rates may not be that good you will still get some kinda of loan.

Interest rates tend to be higher with not so good creidt, hence the need for a cosigner.

Getting a Student without a cosigner, and not so good credit??

The best route to go is to try to receive some kind of financial aid. You can apply on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. This were you can receive some grants that you may not have to pay back. Also if that does not work talk to your school financial aid office because they can also help you with receiving loans such as the Perkins loan which is a government loan. They also may set up a payment plan with you so that you do not have to pay the entire amount upfront. They also may opt to do work-study with you where you will work at the school to pay your tuition this also may give you more time to pay the money. Overall the best answer is talk to your school financial aid office and go to the school instead of calling talking face to face will also give you way better chances.

Citibank Mistake?

I filled in a student loan application and i got pre approved. i requested the forms be sent to be for an official signature. i found put i put the repayment loan %26quot;to pay while in school%26quot; instead of %26quot;deferred till graduating%26quot;, if i cross this out and put the deferred option, will this interfere with my pre approval?

Citibank Mistake?

If you still have the form, why don%26#039;t you reprint it and fix it? If you%26#039;ve already sent it, call the offices up ASAP and tell them you want to change the option to defer until graduation.

Need friendly advice about eventually living with boyfriend.?

Hi.

My boyfriend currently lives with his family and he plans to move into his own apartment soon. We have discussed living together and we are both very excited. I am going back to school, will no longer be working, living off loans and grants. My boyfriend doesn%26#039;t see a problem if I don%26#039;t help with the rent. I would do my part by taking care of the apartment and finances. I would take care of my own cell phone bill obviously. And I would pay for the electricity and cable. Remember, I am not working and living off of loans and grants. My mom thinks it is sort of unfair that I don%26#039;t help with the rent BUT he has to pay full rent whether I am there or not. My boss said the same thing. My boyfriend and I haven%26#039;t discusses the new apartment because it is not an issue now. But I have asked him over three times does he mind me not paying rent and he said no. I just want to get an idea of what people who CURRENTLY live with a significant other/spouse feel about this.

Need friendly advice about eventually living with boyfriend.?

If your boyfriend already recognizes that each person makes contributions to the household that aren%26#039;t necessarily monetary, then you have a rare bird indeed, and I can see why you want to hang onto him. Not paying rent is certainly not a problem, as long as the non-paying partner continues to make those other contributions to the common good and the paying partner continues to recognize and appreciate them.

Need friendly advice about eventually living with boyfriend.?

First off as the above poster said, as long as your both making contrubutions then its going to work out fine, as long as you both agree and both keep up on your contrubutions.

I have lived with 3 boyfriends. One of them paid for everything and i stayed home all day, when he came home dinner was expected to be on the table and the house was expected to be clean, other than that i didnt have to do anything he gave me money all the time to spend and i was well taken care of. The second one was in the same money situation as me at the time pay check to pay check, we did fine as far as the money part went we split everything down the middle and if one couldent afford something then the other paid for it. but then it became difficult when he slacked all the time and i had to pay for most everything. the 3rd one whom i am living with now pays for half the rent and for all the utilities and he paid the deposit, before we moved in together i told him that i would only be able to afford rent and my personal bills thats it, he was ok with it and everything bills wise works out good. He even buys all the grocries, but in return I cook most meals and do most of the cleaning except the dishes wich he does.

you besically have to find a balance that will work out for the both of you, talk about it and make sure that its agreed upon before moving in.

I have already shead a little light on how bad it can go in your last question so now would be a good time to let you know all the good things.

as far as the actuall living part goes its great most of the time but parts of it can suck.

For example waking up next to him everymorning is awesome, getting thoes first morning kisses and snuggles is the best. Taking a shower with your man is pretty cool too, unless it becomes a habit and you one day want to shower alone... he will start questioning why he cant come... lol

Not living with your parents is pretty awesome, getting to make your own decisions about EVERYTHING!

but then again it can be hard with the bills daily stress you both will have ect ect ect.

like i said before if you need any help just e mail me i will be glad to help you .

What to do about Applying to more Law Schools?

I%26#039;ve applied to 10 schools so far and received 6 rejections. I placed a lot of time arguing over receiving accommodations with LSAC and didn%26#039;t study as much as I needed to do my best on the LSAT exam which I didn%26#039;t do well on. I am unsure as to what to do next. Should I contact the ADA about my accommodation rights or will that list me as a trouble maker? Should I apply to Thomas Cooley and hope I get a decent job to pay back all the student loans? Should I hire an attorney myself to get my accommodations and wait another year and retake the LSAT in the Fall? I%26#039;ll be 40 next month so time is marching on for me.

I can%26#039;t believe at almost 40 I feel like i%26#039;m reliving high school again worrying about the SAT and what i%26#039;ll do with my life.

What to do about Applying to more Law Schools?

Have you tried taking a test prep course? They are a big help. The best place for you to go to law school is the lowest cost ABA accredited school you can find. There is no sense in racking up 100,000 of law school debt if you can afford it. If you really want to be a lawyer, it doesn%26#039;t matter which school you go to if you are not in the top percentile in your class.

Do the princeton review and when your score raises reapply to law school.

What was your LSAT score? What schools have rejected you already? Perhaps you are apply at schools that you aren%26#039;t qualified to attend...there are TONS of law schools out there.

What to do about Applying to more Law Schools?

Well, with 10 applications and 6 rejections, that%26#039;s still 4 more that might accept you. What is your disability and what are the needed accomodations? Of course, you could re-take the LSAT in the fall. Do what you have to do.

HELP I%26#039;m 19 and parents are makin me pay for college this semester in TWO days and I%26#039;m LOST!?

Go to a bank and make an appointment to see a loans officer. At short notice that might be your best option. Make sure you plan for next term now as well so that you don%26#039;t get caught like this again.

HELP I%26#039;m 19 and parents are makin me pay for college this semester in TWO days and I%26#039;m LOST!?

if you get a student loan you dont have to pay them back until after you graduate, thats how I am getting through right now

HELP I%26#039;m 19 and parents are makin me pay for college this semester in TWO days and I%26#039;m LOST!?

You need to contact the financial office of your school and see what they can do to help you. These people are paid to help you out and know of many programs for people in your situation.

HELP I%26#039;m 19 and parents are makin me pay for college this semester in TWO days and I%26#039;m LOST!?

I would talk to your counselor at school. I am confident he/she can postpone the deadline and help you secure a student loan.

HELP I%26#039;m 19 and parents are makin me pay for college this semester in TWO days and I%26#039;m LOST!?

Talk to your school%26#039;s financial aid office. Hopefully they can help you by granting an extension. Also, they can point you in the direction of some loans that don%26#039;t have to be paid off until after you finish school.

Good luck!

HELP I%26#039;m 19 and parents are makin me pay for college this semester in TWO days and I%26#039;m LOST!?

I had the same thing happen. I took out a student loan. Go to admissions or make an appt. to get a loan. You can pay it off little by litter when you are done. ditch the cellphone, car and gas if you%26#039;re on campus you wont need it.

Teaching you the value of money is all fine and dandy but having good communications is another.

I know its frightening but there are so many people at the college willing to help you.

Good luck!!

HELP I%26#039;m 19 and parents are makin me pay for college this semester in TWO days and I%26#039;m LOST!?

Go immediately to your school%26#039;s financial aid office. They can help you with an emergency loan, and you do not have to pay off a loan while you are in school - the loans become due after you graduate. Did your parents just mention this for the first time now, or did you know that you were going to have to pay for your own education, but you just realized that the deadine was this week?

HELP I%26#039;m 19 and parents are makin me pay for college this semester in TWO days and I%26#039;m LOST!?

The first step is to go to the Financial Aid Office of the college that you are attending. You need to sit down with a financial aid counselor and discuss your situation. The counselor will be able to offer the best solutions to your situation.

Sell your car, that should give you some cash. A car is a liability, an education is an asset. BTW - In Canada you are ineligible for a student loan if you own a car.

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

I am a young (under 30) recent law school grad. I have a mountain of student loans, but zero credit card debt. I currently put 8% of my salary into my 401(k), have a small amount invested in stocks, and put my spare change in to a high-interest savings account while paying the minimums on my student loans. I live in an apartment but I want to save for a house. What, if anything, should I change about the way I%26#039;m currently saving that would speed up the rate at which I can purchase a home? Should I put less into my 401(k) and more into my savings or brokerage accounts? Something else? I need advice. Thanks!

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

Much of what you do should be determined by the rate of return that you are receiving on your 401K. If the interest that you are paying on your loans is greater than the interest gained on the 401K then you want to pay off the loan as fast as you can.

You can afford to invest in higher risk investments at this point in your life. Mutual funds have been considered safe in the past. Savings are not savings if you have debt. The goal should always be achieving debt free status.

Maximize smart investments. Avoid debt. Pay off loans. Do not buy expensive luxury items. (depreciation will get you).

Buying a house may save you money in the long run versus renting.

Just my thoughts.

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

Just as long as your annual return on your 401k is greater then the interest rate on your student loans you should be fine. If not I would put some more money into paying your student loans.

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

At your (and my) age you can afford some risk.

Try something like POWERSHARES QQQ TR 1 (NasdaqGM:QQQQ) or SPDRs, which are index shares.

What percentage you invest is up to you but you can get 3-4 times the returns compared to a high yield savings account. To offset the risk, get some AAA rated government bonds.

Email me if you want.

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

I%26#039;m 24 and in the same boat as you. I%26#039;m putting 10% in my 401k. Start as young as you can. Cut out foolish spending and pay off anything that is charging you interest extremely aggressively. Pack away a good down payment for a house and shop around for a good mortgage rate and buy a house in a year or two when the market falls more (which it will). You don%26#039;t want to be buying a house when the markets on the down curve, but rather near the bottom when rates are low and houses are ever lower. You%26#039;re lucky to be able to do this at a young age. To answer your question about the 8% I think thats a fine number. Try and take another 12% off each pay and throw it in your brokerage accounts. 20% savings total (including your 401k) until your 35 is more than fine. When you%26#039;re 35-42 bump it up to 30%. 42-50 bump it to 40%. In your 50%26#039;s the skies the limit, hopefully your house is paid off and you%26#039;re banking most your pay. Retire by 58 and live off interest!

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

you asked: What, if anything, should I change about the way I%26#039;m currently saving that would speed up the rate at which I can purchase a home?

You could reduce your retirement savings so that your take home pay increases and thus allowing you to put more money into your savings account.

Have you figured out how much of a down payment would be required? Some loan programs require very little downpayment. I%26#039;m not saying I%26#039;d advise this route, but your question was about buying a house quickly (I%26#039;m sure you have a good reason for wanting to purchase a home quickly).

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

Ok as far as your investment strategy goes, i think you are on the right track and the simple fact you are addressing future finance needs is to be commended. However, as a person who has worked for a company that administered 401k benefits, i am going to offer you some valuable advice.

For starters, you want to invest in your 401k in a level which maximizes you company match across the whole year. For example, pre-tax income for 2007 max contribution to 401k is approx 16000. Now suppose your company matches you dollar for dollar up to 4%. And supposed that your current 8% makes you reach the 16000 in 8 months instead of 12, then you are missing out on the remaining 4 months of match. What you want to see is what your companys matching percentage is, calculate the amount you can contribute in order to reach the full 16000 over the entire year and also get the match across the full year. This way you maximize your savings.

Secondly, also pertaining to the 401k account, due to your age, i believe you need to be somewhat aggressive in your saving strategy given you are young still. In a 401k account, you can specify where the moeny you input goes and in that way, at this age you can selected stocks that give back higher returns. Although this carries risk and following the rationale that higher risk equaly higher return or higher loss, at this point in your life, you are better off investing 60-70% of your 401k contributions in stocks ( small cap, international) and the remainder in more stable bond and moeny market funds.

So thats my advice to change your 401k strategy and i beleive that you are taking the right initiatives by thinking about his at this time, however, there is a lot mroe you can acquire through your 401k than even you might know.

As for your student loans, check out a company called graduate leverage. I consolidated my federal loans based on their recommendations and it worked out to a very solid rate of repayment. Unlike several lenders that try to offer you their so called best rate, Graduate leverage compares the rates of the different lenders nad their package adn offers you the recommednation and assistance to process the best paperwork and lowest payment and interest. Given the fact that the difference between choosing a good consolidation package and bad one can result in over $8000 interest difference, it is worth to check out your options. Best part is that if your loans are federal such as stafford and gplus, then your consolidation doesn;t hurt your credit score.

I know this whole excerpt is lengthy but investment strategy is something that takes examples and result based advice to communicate.

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

I feel the best way is to diversify, as you are doing, but focus on the current goal or hot sector/industry, but have some amonuts going to all areas. Split your savings something like 33% cash, 33% 401k and 33% house as a basis, and move 10% from each to the hot or focused area. So, for you right now, you should have 53% going towards house savings, with 23 %26amp; 23 to the other two. If you don%26#039;t have a current goal, put more into whatever is hotter at the time, either real estate or stocks. I mostly lean towards Real Estate, because you leverage the banks money. If I put down 50k on a house, and it goes up 50k in 2 years, then I made 50% on my money in a year. That cannot be done with the market. I have 60 real estate (my house and another rental) and 40% in the stock market. My main advice is save way more than you think now, while young, as dollar cost averaging is amazing, once you get some big values it there. I started at 25 and am now 40, and have more than most of my peers, even though overall they have put in more than me. Time is everything!

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

You have been responsible with your money... great job! Are you planning to stay at the job you are at for say 3-5 years? If so, I would recommend maxing out your 401K, for two practical reasons. First the money you put in on the front will significantly boost your balance vs money put in later. Secondly, you can borrow against this money that would otherwise be untouchable for your first time home purchase. you can borrow up to 50% of your balance or 50K whichever is greater. So, unless your balance is already over 100K this would be wise! If you plan to jump jobs, then make sure you contribute enough to get 100% of the matching from your 401K plan and put the rest into a solid mutual fund. You should do your own research, but I am including two that are in my oppinion good vehicals (VFINX, VEXMX). This account would be set asside for your home purchase... when you are ready to buy a home, you would cash it out and fund your down payment and closing cost from here. You can expect to have between 8-12% annual returns on these accounts. A general rule of thumb you can follow to determine how much you need to save is to divide the list price of a home by 7, so for example... to purchase a townhome for say 300,000.00 (in Northern Virigina) you should have about 42K saved... that%26#039;s with a reasonable 80/10/10 plan. Everything is fluid and negotiable, so what I have provided you is a good guideline but apply your own twists. You may want to buy with only 5% down, or perhaps negotiate so you don%26#039;t pay closing costs (only the down payment). Reading up on first time home buyer stuff, will pay you dividents in the future. Z-Money%26#039;s 401K tips are wise, you should read her notes also.

A house is great, because once you have one... you can leverage your equity to do even more financially. A lot of new tax-breaks become available to you as a home owner.

Sorry for the long answer...

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

It looks like you are do savings correctly. Because you are under 30 you have time on your side. The general rule of thumb is, under 30 save 7 percent of your income for retirement. That number doubles every 10 years you delay. (i.e. 14 percent starting in your 40s, and 28 percent starting in your 50s)

However, you should put the maximum amount that your company will match. If you don%26#039;t, you are throwing away money.

I suspect the interest rates are low you your student loans, but I would suggest paying those off instead of paying the minimum.

One trap most people fall into is spending more as their income rises, resulting in making no headway. Every time you get a raise, put at least 1/2 of that into savings.

It is difficult to save for a house on your own. Typically, the prices are going up faster then you can save for it. If it is possible, see if your parents or other relative can give you some %26quot;gifts%26quot; to start out. The IRS allows each parent to give $12,000 tax free. Doing this in Dec. and Jan. could allow you to accumulate $48,000 in 2 months.

Another way is to get a life partner/spouse, that has your same goals and thrifty habits. Couples usually advance financially faster then singles. However, children can alter plans, and split ups can make you worse off.

I hope that helps.

Good luck.

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

Honestly, you should be paying as much as you can on those student loans. It doesn%26#039;t make any sense to be paying 6-7% interest on those, when you have money sitting in the bank earning you 3 percent. I%26#039;m not saying don%26#039;t put a little into savings/401k, but you need to get rid of those loans.

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

I understand that you put a little too much in your 401k and Savings account.

Paying your debts first is more important.

2 reasons:

- You don%26#039;t earn enough money with interest

- You don%26#039;t know what future is. You may be a long time without workig (for any reason). I it happens, you%26#039;ll be happy to be debt-free.

Good luck !

What should my saving priority be at this stage of my life?

Well if you have a firm job that pays 150 K a year pay off your loans as fast as possible. Its hard having 100K plus hanging over your head. Once you have that paid off you can start saving for a house.

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

my parents took out loans for 2 and a half years at a private university. All in all it ended up being about 50,000 in loans before interest. I have two years of school left, but since I took time off they no longer want to finance it. In order for me to finish my degree it would cost another 50,000. that would leave them 50,000 in debt, and me about 70,000 in debt do to other loans I took out to finance my education. My plan is to join the Air Force and help my parents repay the 50,000 they took out, and complete my degree while in the Air Force or as soon as I get out. I tried to join last year but they were not having it because they wanted me to finish school, and I was so afraid to disappoint my friends and family. I was also afraid to leave my friends and fam Now i%26#039;m over that and realized I have been out of school for a year now and really need to make a decision to make something out of my life and think that this would be a good way of doing it. What do you think. pros %26amp;cons

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

All of the services have a student loan repayment option -- they will pay off so much of your student loan for each year of service.

Talk to the Army and the Marines, they are the ones that need personnel now and will offer the largest perks.

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

they airforce is a good place to go, you can have a career there

and pay your parents back and even get funds to finish your school...

if you join...thanks for serving your country....

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

Guess it depends---whatcha wanna do in the Air Force?? What do you wanna be when you grow up? :)

Air Force are a tough group to get into. Most of their stuff is technical in some form or another. Higher scores are needed to get in.....they are a small force, and getting smaller as they downsize a bit more in the near future.

So.............whatcha wanna be with you grow up? :D

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

Very wise choice. That route it would be better to go Active Duty.That%26#039;s just my opinion. Unless you already have a paying job.

It%26#039;s good that you%26#039;re already over with being clingy to your friends and posessions now.

For the schooling you%26#039;ve already done you%26#039;ll be slightly ahead in rank than the other recruits.

PS: That%26#039;s ALOT of money lol.

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

you may not come back would be the biggest con . or you could come back emotionally and/or physically disabled. parents still will owe the 50K. I%26#039;d get back in school and get out so you can start manking money. Your life / Your all !

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

Just keep mind joining the Air force is a committment, not just a tool to help you finish college.

You%26#039;re walking away from college because things are getting rough. you can%26#039; walk away fromn the Air Force if things get a little rough. If you know that and can accept it, then, go!

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

I agree with Ticd, on this one. Also you can use the Montgomery G.I. Bill the help pay for your college while you serve in the military or wait till you complete your time inthe Air Force, not to mention, they may evenhave a sign on bonus if you join the military, to help pay your parent%26#039;s loanthey used to finance your college.

If you are 18 you dont need thier approval to join the service. You just need their support on what you decide.

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

Be sure that they will pay the loans your parents or you took out. Some loans are not covered. Check out all the branches to see whom will give you a better deal.

So here is my plan... wanted some unbiased opinions before I run it past the parents.?

Do not join the armed forces of a country at war unless, to put it bluntly, you are prepared to die or to kill or maybe both. Paying off debts isn%26#039;t a good motivation for joining up.

Deferment / Financial Aid?

I%26#039;m about to transfer to a University from a Community College. I%26#039;m getting financial aid ( loans) in Comm.College. Just wanted to know if I can transfer my aid to my new school?Or do I have to pay the loan back once Im done with Community College? What do I do?

Deferment / Financial Aid?

1. Technically, your loans won%26#039;t %26quot;transfer%26quot; to the new college. Your new school will award you new loans based on their school%26#039;s policies and procedures (in keeping with the federal regulations as well). As far as you%26#039;re concerned, most of the steps in their financial aid process will probably be fairly similar to your old school%26#039;s process. If your old loans are with a lender that you like and you want to use that lender for your loans at the new school, give them a call to let them know.

2. As long as you are enrolled at your Community College at least half-time (i.e. 6 credits for a Bachelor%26#039;s candidate), your federal loans are eligible for in-school deferment status.

Most of the major private loan programs will also allow you to delay repayment while you are in school at least half-time (keep in mind that these are technically not %26quot;deferment%26quot; programs, since interest is always accruing on most private educational loans).

Often, in-school deferments can be arranged without the student%26#039;s participation. However, it%26#039;s always good to monitor your loans%26#039; repayment statuses any time you make a transition like this. Your schools will all *eventually* be reporting your enrollment information to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) your loan companies. First, your old school will let NSLDS know that you are no longer enrolled there and, then, your new school will let them know that you ARE enrolled with them. Sometimes, though, your new school might take a little while to report your enrollment status and, until they do, your loans might appear to be in repayment (actually, in your grace period for the first 6 months).

A simple call to the lender(s) of your loans can usually satisfy them that you will be continuously enrolled during this whole process. At most, you will need to complete an %26quot;in-school deferment form%26quot; for each lender.

Deferment / Financial Aid?

Not for sure but I think it is once you have completed any school not a specific one. My step daughter transferred univeristy she still owes all of hers she didnt have to pay back the old ones yet. Its not done PER school its done as once you complete school although you need to contact the place that has your student loans and make sure they know you are transferring possibly keep the loans through the same loaner.

Deferment / Financial Aid?

You can continue to defer your loans at the university, even if you take a year off and return to school at least half time you can put loans you are paying on back into deferment. Your new school will calculate your aid there based on your FAFSA so you won%26#039;t actually transfer your financial aid.

Sharing the rent with the boyfriend if I have no job?

Greetings...

Sharing the rent with the boyfriend if I have no job?

Sounds like we%26#039;ll be seeing you on Judge Judy in the near future...

Sharing the rent with the boyfriend if I have no job?

I live with my boyfriend now. I have lived with other boyfriends as well.

My first bit of advice is to stay living sepratly as long as possible, there will be things that you notice living with him that you will not like.

if your really sure about moving in with him, be sure that if your not paying rent your name is not on the lease or anything. If he decides to bounce out and leave you there then you will be responsible for the full ammont of rent every month untill the lease expires.

i would say that if your boyfriend says yes then go ahead and not worry about the rent but make sure you are keeping up with the utilities or whatever you will be paying.

good luck if you need anymore advice or wahtever just e mail me

Sharing the rent with the boyfriend if I have no job?

DO NOT GET A JOINT CHECKING ACCOUNT!

If a lease gets signed, and you have no intention of paying rent, do not sign that lease. It will make you 1/2 responsible for the duration.

See you on Judge Judy after the break up!

Do not have any of the bills in your name as well.

The Rat

I have house on my credit but my ex is responsible for paying but this affects my getting a loan wha

In the divorce papers ex is responsible to pay for the house but it was to remain in both our names because of the 3 children we have. I need a loan because I%26#039;m going back to school and I don%26#039;t want to end up with a big student loan to pay on for the rest of my life. My credit score is good but when the loan people see the property that is still being paid on I%26#039;m denied the loan even after I give the explantion.

I have house on my credit but my ex is responsible for paying but this affects my getting a loan what to do?

Other than presenting the order showing he is responsible for the payments alone, having the mortgage listed at the credit bureas as in dispute as a result of the divorce, or going back to the divorce court and asking them to order him to re-fi it in his name to make sure he is taking care of the payments as per the order, I don%26#039;t know there is much el;se you can do.

I have house on my credit but my ex is responsible for paying but this affects my getting a loan what to do?

Yes it%26#039;s a serious problem but don%26#039;t get disheartened in this competitive world there are many credit card companies who will give you loans easily but the problem is you have to find them out. You can search them in yahoo. To know more visit

You could just take equity out of the house. You have some built up after all.

Welfare recipients with better benifits than me!!!?

Ok maybe I am just venting, but I am 26 and I have a full time job. I was responsible enough to not have children at an early age, and move out and live on my own. I work at a job where benefits are not offered. I tried to get some type of government support to help get benefits but I make too much money, and I started school and I got barely anything in federal loans.

Now what kills me is the fact that there are people out there that have children and are lazy, yet they get government help. Here I am busting my butt going to work full time and getting a college degree, yet I cant afford to get my teeth fixed and have to come out of pocket for shcool loans 200 a month, all the while people who screwed up their lives have it scott free! Free dental, medical, food, housing. And they have the nerve to complain cuz they have to work to get the support. And dont get me started on tax returns, people who dont pay much taxes get back thousands jsut because they have children. UGH!!!

Welfare recipients with better benifits than me!!!?

This is a quote from BEFORE welfare reform. Since welfare reform, people actually get LESS benefits and have a much harder time getting benefits and don%26#039;t get to stay on them regardless of their circumstances. They don%26#039;t get any other help and usually have to do whatever social services says for 8 hours a day which THE LAST TIME I CHECKED IN CA comes out to about 50 cents an hour. Shouldn%26#039;t work for welfare be at least minimum wage? I think you honestly believe that people on welfare are living for free, but you don%26#039;t know so I am telling you their lives SUCK. And if you see anyone living WELL on welfare, they are cheating, guaranteed. PS the average rent in CA is about a thousand dollars a month.

quote below:

%26quot;The average welfare grant in 1993 was $377 a month or $4,524 a year. This was almost $9,000 less than the federal poverty line for a family of three. In 1970, the average monthly welfare check per family was $676 (in 1993 dollars). Since 1970, states have allowed inflation to erode forty-five percent of the value of welfare payments (twenty-seven percent if food stamps are counted). The maximum monthly food stamp allotment for a family of three (the average size of a family receiving AFDC) was $295 monthly. The maximum food stamp benefit, received by only twenty-three percent of all recipients, amounts to about $1.06 per meal per person. The Department of Agriculture reduced the food stamp grant to an AFDC family by thirty cents for each dollar of AFDC income they received.

Even when food stamps are factored in, on average, an AFDC family received maximum benefits that equaled to only forty-two percent of the poverty line. The combination of welfare, food stamps, and housing assistance could raise fewer than one in five welfare families above the poverty line. Only one-quarter of AFDC families received added assistance to pay for housing. 16 Most AFDC households had to purchase shelter, as well as clothing, transportation, personal hygiene, household needs, and school supplies, out of an annual benefit income that averaged $8,000 for a family of three when AFDC and food stamps are combined.%26quot;

Welfare recipients with better benifits than me!!!?

I work at a work force center and here we have offices that help people needing assistance, but man these people come in their pj%26quot;s, flip flops etc. its crazy. They also have programs that help felons adult or youth.....getting an education and teaching them a trade for free with tax dollars that you and I pay. looks like you must be in trouble with the law to get help.

Will pregnant medicaid reimburse for an office visit before enrolled in the program?

So I recently found out I was pregnant, via a home test. I am currently going to school full time and live off of student loans. The father works but is also going to school. I talked to a lady at the local medicaid office about enrolling in the program since I do not have maternity insurance. She mentioned that I must first see a doctor and write down the due date. I am not sure how much the first visit will be since they perform a lot of tests, but I am planning on spending several hundred dollars. If I do qualify for medicare will they reimburse that money I spent on the initial doctor%26#039;s visit? I am not asking this because I want money, I am merely asking so that I can plan my budget accordingly. Thanks.

Will pregnant medicaid reimburse for an office visit before enrolled in the program?

Most of the time, they will retro bill for that service. I don%26#039;t think that they reimburse but you can submit your bill to them to be paid.

Go to Planned Parenthood and get a pregnancy test, usually $15 and bring that in with your EDD on it. That is enough to get started on Medicaid.

Will pregnant medicaid reimburse for an office visit before enrolled in the program?

It%26#039;s my understanding that they will reimburse any doctors bills for the month in which you are approved. But that may vary from state to state, so its probably best to ask your case worker.

Will pregnant medicaid reimburse for an office visit before enrolled in the program?

There should be places where you live that will do a pregnancy test for free and they will give you a due date once they do this you can take that paper to the Medicaid office and get your medicaid started and in the mean time you should start finding a doctor that accepts medicaid and then all of your medical attention will be paid. Sometimes they will pay a back bill but I don%26#039;t think they will reimburse you so you should check into some places like planned parenthood, lifeline and places that will do the test for free and they will give you a due date for the medicaid.

Will pregnant medicaid reimburse for an office visit before enrolled in the program?

There are free clinics with registered nurses that will give you a test and a due date. They willl give you the form you need to turn into the medicaid office. In Lubbock there was one called the Stork%26#039;s Nest. You can ask the people at the Department of Human Services and they should be able to tell you where to go. And as someone else already mentioned, you could also go to Planned Parenthood for pretty cheap.

Will pregnant medicaid reimburse for an office visit before enrolled in the program?

Usually if you just tell the Dr. or Midwife that you are applying for medicaid, they will not make you pay. Medicaid will pay them for the visit once you are approved...... And usually just for a confirmation, you can go to health and human services. They usually do it for free..... And make sure if you go to your own doctor, they know that you need the confirmation, because it has to be signed and stuff.....

Will pregnant medicaid reimburse for an office visit before enrolled in the program?

Medicaid covers for 3 months prior to when your card says effective date just ask your caseworker what exactly you need to know to be able to have them pay the bill.

Will pregnant medicaid reimburse for an office visit before enrolled in the program?

It probably depends on the state, but I have received Medicaid assistance in two states since I had to move during pregnancy, and both of them will backdate coverage to pay for medical care up to 90 days prior. You shouldn%26#039;t have to pay for the initial visits out of your own pocket if you go ahead and apply for Medicaid coverage-They will usually put you into what they call %26quot;presumptive eligibility%26quot; coverage until your application is actually approved and you receive a medical benefits card. Just go ahead and apply for the coverage, then schedule your ob/gyn appointment. However, if they are wanting something in writing that states you are pregnant to file with your medicaid application, go to a local health clinic. All they need to file with your application is a statement that says you have been given a pregnancy test that was positive, and your EDD, which they will base off your last period for now. It shouldn%26#039;t cost you much just to get this, then save the big appointment for after you have applied for coverage.

Will pregnant medicaid reimburse for an office visit before enrolled in the program?

I had to go through this not even like 5 days ago. I went and made the application and in the interview they asked me for that too. so they gave me this paper for the doc to fill out. So i went to this clinic where they made free pregnancy tests. And whatever i came out positive. So then i asked the girl to fill out the paper for me and to put the due date. So she put the due date since the last time i had my period. If i were to stay with that doctor they would%26#039;ve filled it out free but since i didnt want that doctor she just charged me $25. so i took the paper back and im now waiting for my medicaid to get here. o and go ahead and look for your doctor and make an appointment now, cuz i made mine last friday and im not getting it til the 30th. Some doctors are very busy so it may take a while for them to attend you.

Where can I find information on West Virginia?

I may be moving to West Virginia because my fiance may be getting transferred there. I live in texas right now and am going to school to be a graphic designer. I get loans and grants right now and I was wondering if all my school stuff will transfer, or if I will have to start all over because it%26#039;s in another state. Also, is West Virginia a nice area? I want to see pictures and know if this is a place where I%26#039;d really want to live. I would love a change and would love to go, but I need to find this stuff out first. Please if you know anything, help!

Where can I find information on West Virginia?

Yes, West Virginia is a great area with really nice folks. I am not sure if you have a particular area you are looking at or are interested in but anywhere along the Ohio River is nice. Cities away from the mountains I would recommend include Parkersburg, Clarksburg, and Huntington. The capitol of Charleston is nice as well if you don%26#039;t mind the heavy traffic of I-77, 79, and 64 which split the city. As for the mountains Elkins and Lewisburg are pretty nice, Elkins is actually under major renovation right now, they are really working to improve the downtown area. The fastest growing area in the state is the Eastern Panhandle, and all of the towns over there are nice, such as Berkeley Springs, Martinsburg, Romney, and Petersburg.

Keep in mind, except for Parkersburg, Huntington, and Charleston, all of these towns have under 30,000 residents so I hope you do not mind the slower-paced lifestyle because that%26#039;s sort of West Virginia in a nutshell. It%26#039;s a beautiful state, a very laid back and relaxing place to live, but if you are used to the city lifestyle you probably will not like it all that well unless you live in the Charleston/St. Albans/Huntington area (that is pretty much the %26quot;metro%26quot; area of the state). Now, Morgantown is, of course, home to WVU and can be crowded during sporting events, and continues to grow, but it too fits into the %26quot;under 30,000%26quot; category. In any event, if I can be of further help don%26#039;t hesitate to send an e-mail my way and I%26#039;ll be happy to answer any other questions you may have. Best of luck to you on your move!

The difference between "Men" and "Guys"?

Willys cynical thought for the fugging day;

People always say, %26#039;the Blues are simple.%26#039; Well, that%26#039;s true %26#039;the Blues are simple%26#039; if you ignore the fawking complexities!%26#039;

The difference between %26quot;Men%26quot; and %26quot;Guys%26quot;

Men: know what they want to be doing five years down the road.

Guys: are not sure what they want to be doing later tonight.

Men: read Crichton, watch Rather, play golf.

Guys: read King, watch Seinfeld, play poker.

Men: wear ties with stripes, shirts with buttons, and shoes with laces.

Guys: wear high school T-shirts they%26#039;ve actually owned since high school.

Men: balance their checkbooks.

Guys: balance their loans so that they never hit up the same buddy twice in a row.

Men: claim to be feminist but still insist on opening doors, driving, and paying for dinner.

Guys: claim to be feminists so they can let YOU open doors, drive, and pay for dinner.

Men: are afraid of becoming their fathers.

Guys: are afraid of becoming men.

Men: put you on the phone when their mothers call.

Guys: pretend you%26#039;re not there when their moms call.

Men: start their own businesses.

Guys: quit their jobs.

Men: are experts on women%26#039;s erogenous zones.

Guys: are experts on their own erogenous zone.

Men: order wine based on more than the price.

Guys: bring their own beer.

The difference between %26quot;Men%26quot; and %26quot;Guys%26quot;?

Thats funny, the funniest thing is that its true

The difference between %26quot;Men%26quot; and %26quot;Guys%26quot;?

Long live Guys and no man is an expert on women%26#039;s erogenous zones.

The difference between %26quot;Men%26quot; and %26quot;Guys%26quot;?

Thanks bro

The difference between %26quot;Men%26quot; and %26quot;Guys%26quot;?

I%26#039;ve been on both sides of the spectrum within the last year. Let me tell you, it%26#039;s funner being a guy!

閳?br>The difference between %26quot;Men%26quot; and %26quot;Guys%26quot;?

Five years down the road I%26#039;ll be doing the same thing I%26#039;m doing tonight, trying to figure out what I%26#039;m doing tonight.

Crichton sucks, King is worse. Seinfeld is alright though. I only play poker to make money, the game kind of sucks. Golf really sucks.

But I can%26#039;t give up my shirt I had in high school, its lucky.

My buddies have less money then I do, I can%26#039;t go to those losers for money.

She%26#039;s the one who wants to be treated equal, I%26#039;m just trying to do my part.

Men become fathers, and I was a punk kid, I don%26#039;t need to be raising another punk kid like me.

My mom lives next door, I don%26#039;t have to call her, I just head on over with a bagful of my laundry.

I got fired from my job before I had a chance to quit. I do have an idea for a business though, I%26#039;m going to open up a bar. I just need to take those bartending classes first.

In all fairness I have more practice with my own erogenous zones. I take at least an hour every night.

I bring my own beer because then I can tell others they can%26#039;t have any of my beer, so I never run out.

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and wha

i have a friend that wants me to join a mafia orginiation in creation... i know that i have the kinda mind that would be able to comit a crime and get away with it without getting cought but i dont know if i shoud do it... if i do it then it would be for money (which i dont have) if i dont id stay as a normal person and stay at the lower end of the social chart... i already have established a loan shark busnes at my school and am earning tones from that, i also have a minor insurance busnes at that school, there is also a %26#039; pay me and ill take care of the comptistion%26#039; ill get someone to hurt another athelete to tip the scale and help someone to win something... should i continue? and should i continue with the plan for starting to get the dairys to pay %26#039;protection%26#039; money? if you want to talk to me - angry_teabag@hotmail.com -

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and what is wrong

i have been in the simmilar battle as u but no 1 wanted me to join the mafia i no im smart enough to get away with something just like u and i no what ur thinking it%26#039;ll be easy i think about it all the time in shops

look theres no cameras should i take it??? but i never do even though i could so easily u no what i mean

if u do what i do then its proberly not worth joining because ur not confident and u will screw up

if u really want to do it start of with something small first like stealing a lolly from a shop lol thats if u realy wana do it but i wouldent

its ur choice but y would u want to u have nothing to prove and what just what happens if u get cought ???? huh u will go into jail u may think every last possible thing out and try to do it but its just a matter of time before u get cought and ur stuffed so just get a job and get money the way most people do hard work

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and what is wrong

In other words, you%26#039;re just a normal high school kid.

Everyone in my school did thing like this.

I ran numbers.

Bookie Service.

And protection.

Still do.

Good Pay.

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and what is wrong

dont do it

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and what is wrong

Why do you have to turn to the Mafia? Is it b/c of the money? You sound like a smart person. Finish school and make money the old fashioned way, hard work.....legally.

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and what is wrong

You obviously shouldn%26#039;t.

It%26#039;s not because a life of crime is bad...crime is bad, but that%26#039;s not the reason you should stay out of it.

The reason is, you%26#039;re clearly incompetant. Despite your claim of being a criminal mastermind, you are apparently stupid enough to:

a - brag about your criminal activities on the internet

b - post your email address along with your bragging

For your own sake, stay out of crime. Do something less challenging, and less certain to end you up in prison (since, at your level of competance, you WILL end up in prison). Middle-management at a financial firm, say.

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and what is wrong

Go for it. Maybe you can be roomies in prison.

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and what is wrong

Not to be smart, but it sounds like you might have trouble learning in school, so that%26#039;s why you%26#039;ve turned to the easy way out...outlaw %26quot;businesses%26quot; that prey on others, weaker than yourself. If you already know the difference between right and wrong, and know that you%26#039;re doing wrong, you have a conscience. Always follow it, and you can%26#039;t go wrong. Work harder to make your way up the social ladder, focus more on your studies. You never know what doors will open when you take the right path, but I can promise that they will open.

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and what is wrong

Any human is capable of the most heinous of sin. In other words, we all %26quot;could have the kinda mind that would be able to comit a crime and get away with it.%26quot; You can%26#039;t make a claim to originality. It is the rare soul who can walk cleanly and enjoy life without hurting another soul. I suggest, seriously, that you start reading your Bible and get a good spelling curriculum off the internet

This is realy wierd because i have to choose beween right and wrong and i know what is right and what is wrong

You would be far better off to pay attention in school and get an education. You don%26#039;t sound stupid just uneducated. Do you read your questions or are you hookt on fonics. a2J

19 Yrs Old, would like to be more independent, possibly rent?

Well, I%26#039;m turning 19 April 28, I would like to be more independant when I get home from the military. The thing is, my MOS (job in the army) doesn%26#039;t really set me up for any civilian jobs besides security and police, which I refuse to do due to the low pay.

My question is, what could I do (of course work, but should I pursue school, what?) when I get home (2 weeks or so) to set myself up to get to work quickly and earn decent income to rent a 1-2 bedroom apartment? I live in New York City, Queens... I%26#039;m really good with computers (hardware, software, networking, graphics, type fast, ect) and would love to go after something in that field, I just really don%26#039;t know where to begin.

Lol, I just don%26#039;t know, to be honest, I didn%26#039;t even feel like myself typing this. Pretty much what I%26#039;m asking for is advice I guess, I can%26#039;t affoard to go to school, and I%26#039;m scared to death of loans.

19 Yrs Old, would like to be more independent, possibly rent?

The best investment you can make is in an education, sure it may set you back a bit in terms of debt, however you will be on track to be making more money in a career more geared towards your interest.

Computers are a very fickle industry to break into without a degree unless you possess very specialized skills. Luckily computers are also a very board field so you will find there are many 1 year diploma and certificate programs available to get you on track.

As a viable plan, it wouldn%26#039;t hurt to do a couple years in a lower paying job like security while you fine tune your education.

19 Yrs Old, would like to be more independent, possibly rent?

Before you get out of the military, PAY AS MUCH AS YOU CAN INTO YOUR G.I. BILL BENEFITS! Then you%26#039;ll be able to afford to go to school.

Consider joining the Reserves when you get out -- then you%26#039;ll be able to use both your G.I. bill benefits *and* the Reserve tuition assistance program (up to $4500 per year!)

Just make sure you choose a good school. In general, schools that make you pay a huge sum up front for the entire program before they let you start should be a huge warning sign. Reputable schools charge by the course, or by the semester. Never pay for more classes at once than you%26#039;re actually taking!

Financially Trapped?? Need Help?

Hello, I am in desperate need of a job, I have been unable to find a stable job for over a year,(my background is web design/coding) , I have tryed to change careers but I dont have your typical BA/BS degree(technical degree),

and I am overqualified for college student type jobs(retail sales),

I also dont have any savings and cant qualify for a loan to go back to school to pursue the 4year degree

I cant move because of financila reasons either, which I know might help the situation

i am totally lost and depressed and need help asap

how can an adult student get money for school and pay bills at the same time

My life sucks and I dont know what to do

Any thoughts

Financially Trapped?? Need Help?

I don%26#039;t understand why you can%26#039;t find a stable job in web design. There%26#039;s plenty of need for people in that line of work. It may not pay as well as it used to, but the opportunities are still there.

Have you tried freelancing or operating on a contract basis? There are a number of on-line job placement services that are free to those seeking employment.

Moving to a new location for a new job is not expensive. Cost of gas is all it takes, really. Sleep in the car, get a cheap Motel 6 room when you get there to shower and get a good night%26#039;s sleep before your first day at work.
