Financially Trapped?? Need Help?

Hello, I am in desperate need of a job, I have been unable to find a stable job for over a year,(my background is web design/coding) , I have tryed to change careers but I dont have your typical BA/BS degree(technical degree),

and I am overqualified for college student type jobs(retail sales),

I also dont have any savings and cant qualify for a loan to go back to school to pursue the 4year degree

I cant move because of financila reasons either, which I know might help the situation

i am totally lost and depressed and need help asap

how can an adult student get money for school and pay bills at the same time

My life sucks and I dont know what to do

Any thoughts

Financially Trapped?? Need Help?

I don%26#039;t understand why you can%26#039;t find a stable job in web design. There%26#039;s plenty of need for people in that line of work. It may not pay as well as it used to, but the opportunities are still there.

Have you tried freelancing or operating on a contract basis? There are a number of on-line job placement services that are free to those seeking employment.

Moving to a new location for a new job is not expensive. Cost of gas is all it takes, really. Sleep in the car, get a cheap Motel 6 room when you get there to shower and get a good night%26#039;s sleep before your first day at work. Alternate nights sleeping in the car and Motel 6 rooms so you can stay presentable until the paychecks start coming.

It ain%26#039;t necessarily fun or comfortable, but it can be done.

Financially Trapped?? Need Help?

Dear %26quot;Trapped,%26quot;

The only way you are trapped is in your thinking. Employers do not think people are overqualified, no matter what the degree they have. So apply for anything that pleases you, and if the interviewer asks you about why you are not applying for something in your field, tell them you have decided to switch fields. There are people with master%26#039;s degrees working at McDonald%26#039;s and similar.

Student loans are available for almost everyone, check it out before you think you can%26#039;t get them. Inquire at the school of your choice, they will be of the most help.

Get help for your depression, it can really drag down your education. Go to a community college until you are sure what major you want to study, it%26#039;s much cheaper. Good luck.

Post Engineering Bachelor Problem?

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2006. The problem I seem to have is that I%26#039;m an entry level engineer who won%26#039;t be given a shot to raise out of that level. I%26#039;ve had one job (engineering), and I was terminated because I apparently completed the job too quickly. I%26#039;ve applied to everything that may advance my career, including jobs for technical support, technicians, and even radio shack. I%26#039;ve applied to positions I%26#039;m not qualified (req with 10+ experience) asking if theres a position open on staff please keep me in mind. I%26#039;ve been out of school for a year, and nothing seems to be happening for me.

My girlfriend has concluded that I need either HVAC or CAD to advance my career. The problem with that is that I%26#039;m paying so many bills I can%26#039;t afford to go back to school, because my girl, my car, and my loans are sucking me dry already. I%26#039;ve learned that I%26#039;m not qualified for pell grant, but is there a grant that might help?

I just don%26#039;t know what2do

Post Engineering Bachelor Problem?

Welcome to my world. I graduated with an Associates Degree in Electrical Mechanical Drafting. CAD is the same way. I couldn%26#039;t get a job because I didn%26#039;t have experience but didn%26#039;t have experience because I couldn%26#039;t get a job. I finally got a job by foot walking applications. I went to every place on the planet that did drafting and talked to the person in charge of hiring and begged for a job. Eventually I did get a job. HVAC is in huge demand and an Engineer WITH a CAD degree is better then without. However for the longest time I kept thinking what you are, maybe I should have done this in school too. took me two years to get a job. had to work at taco bell in the mean time to help with bills. Hang in there.

Whats the best way to get a loan for a car with NO cosigner and bad credit?

I need a car immediatley and have no cosigner and bad credit , i%26#039;m a college student so i cant work and save, i have no time. But i really need a dependable car to get to and from school and I%26#039;m willing to pay backa loan and work if i get a car

Whats the best way to get a loan for a car with NO cosigner and bad credit?

Your only hope for a loan will be through a dealer willing to finance you, but they%26#039;ll rape you with interest charges. Try to pick up a cheap used car for cash.

Staffor Loan question??

If I have the Stafford Loan but if I decide to take this coming summer and the next semester off from school would I have to start paying my Stafford Loan back?? Is it after 6 months you%26#039;re not going to school or 6 months after you graduate?

Staffor Loan question??

school, not graduation

otherwise everyone would quit school to avoid repaying loans

Staffor Loan question??

You should request a deferment for the loan. It delays when you have to repay it. The only problem with this is that you will accrue intrest on the loan.

Staffor Loan question??

You have six months from the date you cease attending school on a full-time basis. Summer school is generally not a requirement for this.

If your last term ends in June, but the next term you will attend begins in January, you should be fine (six months). You need to check your school%26#039;s calendar for this, because the date is not set by the last physical day of class, but by the end of the school calendar for your term, which could be much later.

If in doubt, check with the Financial Aid Officer at your school, and contact the company which holds your note to see if you would be in compliance, in light of your break.

Good luck!

Student help to pay for attending beauty schools in louisiana???

Student help to pay for attending beauty schools in louisiana???

It depends if your school is approved to participate in federal financial aid. Check with them. Some beauty schools in LA are approved.

Credit Card ? I'm needing to get dental work done fast.,I've wayed out all other options .

The only dental school I can go to in Louisiana is booked for two months and then they tell me after the 2 months your 2nd visit could be 3 months after that,so that%26#039;s not even an option at this point.Next,I have a decent dental plan that will help with the high cost a little bit. But!! I%26#039;m still looking at paying at least 2,500-3,000$ with the dental plan.I%26#039;m in school not very much moo-lah at all.My dad is willing to cosign for me for whatever. So I looked into care credit but the dentist that accepts the plan they don%26#039;t accept care credit or vice versa.I need the work done bad and fast.So I%26#039;m willing to just pay for it .I need a decent regular loan or credit card maybe to pay for this.Either one will help.Do you guys have any suggestions or know of any loans or particular cards I may be eligible for and if so I%26#039;d prefer not to involve my dad,but he%26#039;s willing to co sign.Sorry so long and remember...I KNOW ABOUT DENTAL SCHOOLS,NOT AN OPTION AND I know about Care credit. Thanks

Credit Card ? I%26#039;m needing to get dental work done fast.,I%26#039;ve wayed out all other options ..dental schools, etc.

First off you need to know how much you can afford on a monthly basis. If you have 200 a month to put toward paying this off than that is one thing, a credit card could work fine. Can you upgrade your dental coverage at work? Have you searched for dentists that have in house financing options? Aside from traditional credit cards check the peer to peer lending sights like Prosper.com. Whatever you end up doing it is a good idea to start up a savings account with automatic saving so when unexpected expense occur you are ready for them. Good luck

Credit Card ? I%26#039;m needing to get dental work done fast.,I%26#039;ve wayed out all other options ..dental schools, etc.

If possible go to a non-prophet clinic because they get grants for low income people who cannot afford dental care. If you are eligible then you would only have to pay a flat rate of about $45 a visit (regardless of the procedure). You may have to wait awhile like the school you were talking about but if you cannot afford dental care, then the lower rates will outweigh the wait. But if you are impatient then you will have to pay for it...a simple alloy filling cost anywhere from $75-$175.

Based upon others judgement will not get the wise decision.However,other%26#039;s suggestion might be helpful. Here is a good resource for the question.http://creditcard.expertips.info/card-co...

Help getting my friend in college...?

this is the situation:

she just moved senior year about an hour away and her new school doesnt have the resources to help her. the counselors dont know her as well and arent able to help. her family is half the problem. and im leaving the state for school so we cant go to school somewhere close and room together ( i already checked out the jc%26#039;s where i was going to school).

really do you know of any jc%26#039;s, colleges, or universities that have special circumstance admissions because to pay for school she%26#039;ll have to work and take out loans(im trying to make sure this doesnt happen because loans are the devil, my brother is in super debt) or try and get an athletic scholarship for track to supplement whatever scholarships we can get for her. average grades. no sat or act (parents wont pay). no fafsa (parents took to long to get pin so deadline passed). great work ethic. any advice is welcome.

Help getting my friend in college...?

only thing for her, is to look for JC in her local area. It is rare for any JC to turn down an incoming freshmen. It is just too bad, she waited until now to deal with the issue. maybe she should wait until the following spring to enroll in a college, while she contends to whatever her issue maybe.
